PINOT BLANC 2 **
"The best score for the Hachette selection of Pinot Blanc."
€ 5.80 inclusive of tax

"Settled at the heart of the medieval village of Eguisheim, in the shelter of the ancient ramparts, the Léon Baur estate exploits, today, 8 hectares of vines growing on the best soils of the region. Growing on a clay-limestone soil, this Pinot Blanc is already fairly complex to the nose: fruity notes mingle with bewitching roasted bean aromas. With a keen first impression, it is a wine that lingers long on the palate and that is perfectly structured. An elegant wine". "Many tourists are strolling in the alleys decked out with flowers of Eguisheim, one of the inescapable stopping places on the Alsatian Route des Vins (wine trail). In the historic centre, they will find the cellar of the estate dating back to 1738. The cellar was built against the ancient rampart of the village. A new wine-tasting cellar welcomes the visitors. The latter can safely bank on the Pinot Blanc: the 2003 vintage is as outstanding as the previous one. It has delicate and fresh fruity aromas to the palate. With a good first impression, this wine is particularly appealing thanks to its structure. Its lingering finish is very pleasant".

Winegrowers.

“Jean-Louis Baur keeps a lookout and maintains the continuity of the house founded in 1738. Indeed, he presents us with wines of great distinction: Rieslings of the Eichberg, Gewurztraminers of the Pfersigberg and Pinots Noirs converted into red wines and aged in oak barrels.”

Riesling Cuvée Elisabeth Stumpf 5.80
TTC

Editions de la Revue du Vin de France

Mark : 7.5/10
Its fruity taste is intense and generous; this wine has kept residual sugar (12 g/l) to the palate, like many good wines of the same vintage, which doesn’t interfere with its finish, so it remains quite light with lemony notes. It all goes down very smoothly.

PINOT BLANC 5€
Riesling Cuvée Elisabeth Stumpf 5.80€

Price of a bottle of the wine sold directly by the cellar : €5.
The wine tasting: a nose a little marked by alcohol; a very keen first impression; a palate opening up on the very ripe fruit; grapes that are very present, amazing and pleasant.
Other wines: white Riesling 2003 (€5.80).
The estate: 8 hectares of clay-limestone soil.
